Back to Blogging

Ok, so we fell off the face of blogging!! Well kind of - we still read through our favorite blogs but never actually continued to blog! So here we are back and ready to blog the year away... what happened to us last year?!?! I was preggos from the start of the new school year + a new grade level so that was enough to keep me quite busy.. I welcomed this cutie pie into the world in March! and I am in loooooooove!!!
So after spending the rest of the school year at home with him and now all of my summer, its a bitter sweet time to start thinking of going back to work. Why bitter sweet? Well as much as I LOVE my job and my kiddies there, nothing can beat being at home with my little guy!! But I am getting ready to go back, so to help me mentally prepare I have been back to blog reading and pinterest searching for all the great ideas I can find! and oh boy there are sooooo many!! This is why I love the online world, ideas are just a click away!

I came across the great idea on pinterest of how to create your own dry-erase boards and was instantly inspired.. I have been wanting dry-erase boards for each student to have in class. They were pretty expensive to purchase one for each student and although I add it as a wish list item for the class each year, but have never been able to get each student to have one - so we have always shared! Well not this year.. thanks to Peace-Love-Prek  I was inspired to do my own!

I have always wanted to use these in class for so many endless assignments:
* Quick way to show their answers during reviews
* Group work
* Jotting down notes to share with book buddy
* Math practice
* Spelling Practice board
* Use during guided Reading / math groups

Easy peasy! I got my handy dandy laminator and laminated white printer paper (if I would have thought this through before hand, I would have used card stock so it would be sturdier, but I was to excited to think.. lol..)  Then I sent my hubby out to get cute decorative duct tape for me! I was home with a baby and it was raining, so it was easier for him since there is a Home Depot across the street from his job, plus he is a helpful and supportive hubby!! Once I had the tape, I covered the edges and there you have it, cute individual white boards!! =)
So here it is my first project of the summer to be used with my kiddies this school year! While making these I also this it would be great to maybe have the kids make one to keep at home they would be great to use for
* Spelling Practice & Math Fact Practice

Please share any other great ideas you have for these fun dry erase boards!

Happy Tuesday Blog World!
